Before she can triumph with her 'rude girl' friends deejaying her lyrics on stage, she has to prove herself ā and she has some growing up to do along the way. Bringing up two kids on a tough estate is no easy matter, nor are her relationships with her mother, sister, and her babyfather Byron (Wil Johnson,Ā Outlander) ā a singer with his own ambitions.
Featuring music by Beres Hammond, Carroll Thompson and Cinderella this 90s gem stars familiar faces from stage and screen including Corinne Skinner-Carter (Burning an Illusion, Pressure) as Anita's mum and Don Warrington (Rising Damp, Death in Paradise) as ruthless promoter Luther.Ā BabymotherĀ is released here for the first time on Blu-ray, newly remastered in 2K by the BFI.
